ELIGIBILITY

Holgapalooza is open to anyone 16 years of age or older anywhere in the world. All participants are only eligible to win one prize per main category, and one for each special category (winners declared from the main categories will have their submissions removed when being judged in the special categories).

Deadline

All electronic submissions must be received by September 10th, 2010, 11:59 PM, Eastern Standard Time.

JUDGING

Judges will select the winning entries by September 25th, 2010. The judges’ decision will be final.

JUDGING CRITERIA

Originality, relevance to theme, composition, lighting, and technical quality. Only electronic submissions will be judged - no print submissions.

DESIGNATION OF WINNERS

Winners will be notified of their win by the email address they submitted to by September 26th. Please do not inquire about the status of your submission. Winning images will be published in the Fall 2010 issue of Light Leaks magazine.

PUBLICATION RIGHTS

Light Leaks Press reserves publication rights of winning images in its magazines (including covers) and electronic media, as well as for possible use in future Holgapalooza promotional material.

CLAIM OF OWNERSHIP AND MODEL RELEASES

Contestants must own all rights to the works submitted and are solely responsible for obtaining model releases, when applicable. As such, contestants hold the publisher and contest sponsors harmless from any breech of copyright in Canada, the USA, and elsewhere and from consequential litigation.

RESPONSIBILITY

Special care is taken in the handling of all entries. However, Light Leaks Press and sponsors cannot be held liable for errors that may occur during digital transfer of images or funds. If a valid PayPal transaction ID is provided, a refund may be granted if images cannot be included in judging.

Right to disqualify

Light Leaks Press reserves the right to deny participation to Holgapalooza to individuals for any reason. Refunds will be provided to those individuals with the possibility of explanation.

ACCEPTANCE OF RULES

Participation in the contest indicates complete acceptance of the contest rules set forth herein.

PRIZES AND DELIVERY

All prizes will be shipped within 30 days of contest judging through Canada Post (insurance and tracking information provided). Winners will be contacted to provide current mailing addresses. Cash winners will receive certified checks in U.S. dollars or can be paid through a verified PayPal account.

Where applicable, duty and customs fees will be the responsibility of prize recipients. Prizes are subject to substitution by products of equal or greater value without notice. In the event a prize is not desired by the winner, winners can negotiate substitutions with Light Leaks Press.
